This issue was usually caused by network, proxy, or firewall failures. To fix the error, try the following steps:
- Open "My computer" on the desktop.
- Insert the Windows 8 installation media, right-click on the Windows 8 client ISO.
- Click the "Start" button, and type "cmd" in the search box.
- run the following command: In the command prompt, type "Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source::\sources\sxs /LimitAccess" and press Enter. Eject the Windows 8 client ISO, and install Windows Live component.
- Click the "Start" button, and click "All Programs", and then click "Windows Update".
- Restart your computer and install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 again.
